The Arc-Dane County is a non-profit organization that believes people with developmental disabilities are valued members of our communities. We believe that people with disabilities have an equal right to education, training, job opportunities, and social supports necessary to fully participate in our committees.

Mission Statement The Mission of The Arc - Dane County is to ensure that all children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families are offered the same opportunities, choices, rights, and respect due all people in our community through example, education, advocacy, support, and legislation.

What does The Arc do?

• We work to assist people with disabilities and their families in solving common problems and meeting the many challenges that face children, young adults, and senior citizens with disabilities.

• We seek to enhance public awareness and understanding of people with disabilities.

• We work to inform our members and others of vital issues that might affect access to education, training, employment or social opportunities.

• We create important opportunities for families and others involved in the lives of people with disabilities to learn from and help each other.

What can you do?

First...join us! Send your membership application in today.

Second, get involved! Attend a board meeting and tell us what's important to you. Join a committee. Work with friends on public awareness, legislative issues, education, newsletter, fund-raising or some other area that is meaningful to you.

Third, get others...your friends, neighbors, relatives, community organizations...involved in The Arc's efforts and in the lives of people with disabilities.

Fourth, support The Arc's fund-raising efforts. Fund-raising enables The Arc to continue to provide the high level of involvement our members have come to expect from us.
